Poem #16 NaPoWriMo2013 ’30 Poems in 30 days’

April 16, 2013

mornings are crispening,

still the optimistic pumpkin vines

offer new fruits, round and bold-

they are the shiny green

of beginning things

and spring

even though

the neighbouring beans,

are hung with manila pods

already dried around

their speckled seeds,

our winter feast.
